I waded the river in front of my place with Vanwag for a couple of hours. We caught a mixed bag of fish: a few smallmouth, a crappie, a rock bass, a huge carp, and a pretty large channel cat. It wasn't too bad for a couple hours of casting. My question is this- has anyone else caught crappie out of there. I was surprised to see that. The unfortunate part of the day was my slipping on a rock and sitting on the bottom of the river, and dropping the lure that caught most of the fish into the drink. Anyway, I'm not eating fish out of there, but it's nice to be able to catch a few.

Hey Robin-I notice you did not tell us what kind of lure you dropped in the water!!!! and where it was.$#@^%*&^(*&----- Just kidding. Agree with you and Chammokman. The Flint is the best kept secret around. Have caught just about everything except a muskie. During the week you might find me with fly rod in hand using poppers to go after those smallies. What a blast!!!!! Maybe see you guys on the river some time. Be safe not sorry. DC
