Me and Chamook fished Lake Ponemah this morning. Fish tally was 1- 23" walleye and 1-23" pike caught for the day. Jigged Foxee jigs tipped with crawlers in 10 to 22 ft of water. Pesky bluegills kept us busy rebaiting the jigs. Better fishing than staying home getting yard work done thou. BAYDOG2

Mtnman198 - Ponemah, is a real "sleeper" of a Northern Lake, have caught many nice sized Pike early in the season(up to 10lb.). Spinner baits have always been the lure of choise, cast along the many steep dropoffs and emerging weed beds. I believe that if a person spent some time looking off the the shallows in deep water (25' - 45') with electronics, the Mother Lode of larger Pike could be found suspended offshore in the cooler water. Plus the main forage base is Alewives, which would suggest suspending Pike also :fish: . Hope this helps - Bob WC#253.
