We are new to the area, and I am looking for a good place to take my wife and 2 year old fishing. We don't have a boat, and it has been a few years for me. We want to take advantage of the free fishing weekend, so any help you could give would be appreciated. shore fishing is a must, and it would be nice not to be surounded with tons of people.

THanks,

:Welcome: Welcome to the site. I dont know what crowds will be like, but the Metro parks might be a good place. You can even rent a boat at some of them...

Can't go wrong at Kensington. I grew up fishing in Newburgh lake in Livonia off docks/walks...might try that, too. Have fun!

Thanks everyone! It sounds like Kensington is the place. What weight line, what hooks, bait and gear are best around here?
