Preserved Baits

I was just in Dunham's, they had some preserved shiners that looked, well, preserved. Anybody ever use these? Did they work? I picked up some perch and walleye sized, thought I'd give'm a try.

I have seen em before. Kinda off subject, but I used to keep some powerbait catfish nuggets in my box just for good measure. Well, the day came when we were catching a ton of bullheads and ran out of worms. I threw on of those nuggets out there and didnt have another hit the rest of the night.
