I have always used the typical "dual" big boards when trolling and I had the opportunity to use some in-lines last week. I liked them a lot. Much easier to utilize when fishing alone, as I do alot of that seeing how my usual partner has a seasick issue. Anyway, looking around I see the price on these in-lines averages $20.00 each and up, dang, proud of their little piece of plastic aren't they ? Soooooo, I'm making my own. I made up my first prototype last night (wood of course), and will be giving it a try today, Friday, out on Saginaw Bay. The style I made is the "slot in the rear with a pin" type to hold your line and allow the board to swivel back and slide down to a snap swivel/bead stop prior to hitting the lure so I don't have to fight the board and the fish bringing it in. Looks like it's going to work just fine. A bit of tweaking may be in order for the ballst weight/positioning, and the front clip, but I'm sure it'll perform just fine. $2.00 vs. $20.00, oh yeah. ;) Anybody ever give this a shot ?, any suggestions ?

I have four made by a buddy for me. They work as well, or better than the plastic ones, and a lot cheaper.
