Anyone have any experience fishing here? I was up there last weekend and there were lots of trout in there. I tried Panther Martin spinners, night crawlers, spoons and even flies (I don't know how to fly fish, but I tried with a regular rod and reel!). They wouldn't touch anything, even if it was right in front of them! Any suggestions?

No I haven't. But, were there bugs on the water? That might be an indicator. Sometimes with flies, the drift has to be perfect or... you get nothing.

No, there didn't appear to be any flies on the water. There were a lot flying around, but didn't see any on the water. Most of the fish were in the fastest moving rapids part of the water, but some were swimming in the calmer parts as well.

Those fish are more than likely rainbows from Higgins Lake, they are in there every year, actually kinda late if you saw them within the week!?! You can throw everything at them but if they saw you first forget about it, best time is 5:30am morning to try and get a bite. They won't be in there long. I'm sure you saw them right at the restaurant either side of the culvert!?!?!? They don't venture down too far from there either maybe one or two bends for the most part.

Couple reason they might be in there are 1. they follow the sucker run that happens there mostly at night and they just get pooled up until they get harrassed enough or water warms. or 2. they follow the school of spawing minnows as well.

Fun to see in that clear clear water though!!
