I saw that he was closing, and finally got time to run by there but they are completely done now.
Anybody know if he is moving because I know he used to be further NE but moved to M-33 to pick up more traffic. Apparently the recipe didn't quite work out for him.
Anyway, anybody know of a fly shop near Mio?

Mike sent out a letter a month or so ago announcing he was getting out of the fly shop business, but was still guiding and tying flies. He listed his phone number, but I can't find the letter. Maybe someone else has it.
As for fly shops, your best bet is Gott's in Mio. It's a conoe livery, but I understand they have somewhat of a fly shop. Other than that, you'll have to go to Gates, which might be worth the drive.

After a long trip my brain is not working to well. I know I read that Mike has joined the new fly shop on the trophy waters. I can't remember the name of the shop but it was announced in the Free Press. So pretty much any new fly shop out of the trophy waters is the one he is out of. I hope it works out for him. He had moved a couple of times in the last few years and he seems like a good guy. ;)

I thought he teamed up with Linsenman in Mio just off 33 on north side of river. Not even sure of the name, stopped by one time. A small shop regarding equipment selection, but a huge shop when you consider the experience between those two.

The shop owned by Linseman is called Ausable Anglers. It has a great sign out front that sports a zoo couger with eyes. I talked with Mike a couple of weeks ago and he said he will be guiding out of the Ausable Anglers shop. The shop is pretty small. Not much in there, but a ton of streamer patterns for the trophy waters. You are correct when yousay a lot of experience in that shop and Bob is willing to share info. He even has a black lab in the shop for the "real touch" Decent shop defeinately worth stopping into.
Bob
there is a website for the shop just type in Ausable Anglers in google and it will come up.
