Anyone have any suggestions where to fly fish around the Soo on 4th of July? I know the major roads around the area, but don't know any place to fish other than the St. Mary's in a boat. Thanks for any suggestions!

How close to the soo do you want to be? If I'm up that weekend I could help you around the strongs area. South of the soo, the carp would be good or south/west try the pine.

Ought to be a few atlantics starting to hang out in front of the turbans of the Edison plant by then. Good Luck.

Give Western Automotive a call and soo canada (705)949-4812. they have pretty good reports of what's going on. I think drifiting nymphs in the turbines would be a good option.

I'm going to be right in the Soo. I've fished in front at the Edison plant and saw lots of Atlantics there on the 4th before. Problem I've had there is the Natives can snag there legally and when they hook up you have to move or suffer the tangle
Won't comment much on that because my wife is Soo Tribe, but I don't like it personally. What do you get in the Carp?

We target browns, but there are other fish in there.

Any suggestions on fly choice for the Atlantics? I've tried mayflies imitation and real since they're usually hatching then, all I get is followers.
