Maple River cats

Has anyone fished the maple river near Ashley or St.John's at all for cats. We did good on bullhead(4-15") and dogfish(2-28")in the flats off of US 27. I got a few cats last year, and only one this year (18 inch channel) on a piece of smelt fishing for pike. Just wondering if anyone was doing any good.

im not to familier with maple river what toen or city is it located in andywere near lake fenton, fenton or holly.

i wave wanted to catch cats for a long time. and i love fishing for doggfish i have caught about 5 over 2 feet.
