Different month....another spill.

Environment -- Canada oil refinery spill spreads in St. Clair River

A spill early Sunday morning from a Canadian oil refinery on the St. Clair River traveled nearly 15 miles, from Sarnia to Sombra, by late Sunday afternoon.
The spill originated at containment basins at Sunoco Oil and Imperial Oil in Sarnia, said Patricia Spitzley, spokeswoman for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

How the hell can they have a spill or two every month???
I am really beginning to wonder just how many of these "spills" are an accident.
I wish EnviroCanada would start fining the bejeepers out of those irresponsible industries in Sarnia....

ok, this is getting freaking rediculous. I feel like beatin in some heads now. Why canada can't get their head out of their **** and get a system that works is beyond me. No system is perfect, but good god man! We might have problems every now and again, but this is like a regular occurence over there. Is there any pro fishing and hunting environmental groups we can get to lobby for some action or what?

Watched The National a couple of weeks ago. PM Paul Martin addressed this issue and said they would be taking steps to prevent it. Something about commisions to investigate blah blah blah. At least he realizes it IS a problem. Hope he follows through.

I have heard that the tumors that are on some fish caught in the SCR, are NORMAL, and those fish are safe to eat :tdo12: !!!!!!!! Spills from the refineries in Chemical Valley every month makes you wonder if they are by accident, or on purpose  .

It sounds like this will be another excuse to raise gasoline prices.

Can we declare war? Or maybe just return Peter Jennings! :yikes:

We need to remind the powers to be of all this when they start talking about such things as restricting total harvest numbers on Walleye when they are polluting the very water the fish live in.

Yeah and we should suck it up so the Netters in Canada can increase their harvest numbers. I don't think so. :bash:

Just when you think chemicals are enough to cope with you get ***** upon.

Sewage overflows destined for lake

Hundreds of millions of gallons of sewage were dumped into the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair as the heavy rains caused sewer system overflows all across the county.
