Bowfishing

Has anyone been out bowfishing this year? Mallardtoneman and myself are thinking about going on Thursday or Friday, but havent decided where to go yet. I haven't heard any reports yet, but with the bright sun we have been having, I expect them to be out.

Im going up to Caseville this weekend, and will probably try on Saturday or Sunday in Mud Creek. Did pretty good there last year and there was a lot of Gar Pike.

Is anyone entered in the Bowfishing Contest in Caseville this year? Its always fun to go to the weigh in and see how many pounds of fish each team brings in.

I have been seeing a lot of guys working the marsh on that section of M-29, known as the Dyke rd. the last couple of days. Either walking shore or in john boats.

I have been thinking of trying the marsh, would love to get out, but I am really being tied down by my finals right now, one more week of school, and then fish WATCH OUT!!!! I am gonna go crazy with anticiaption.

I know that Harsens hunter got out last weekend, but I will let jim post the report.

Went shooting this weekend out of Mud Creek. Friday around 7:30 I drove by, but only had about 5 minutes. Seen some really nice ones crusing, but none jumping. Took a couple shots, and got about a 18-20 pounder. Not bad for my first Carp of the year. Saturday morning I went Salmon fishing out of Grindstone, but when I got back (around 2:00), I decided to go back to Mud Creek. The carp were GONE. So I put on my waders and did a little bit of walking. After about 15 minutes, I found them. They were all back in the marsh grass in about 12inches of water. They were everywhere back in there. I shot about 15, including 2 in one shot. That was pretty cool since I ahve never done that before. The Carp back in this spot werent too big (biggest about 12 pounds), but there was sure a lot of them. Seen only 3 Gar Pike but couldnt get a good shot at them.
