With raps I use 40' & 18' or 40' & 7' if it is really windy (I hate untangling the mess)

With spoons its usually 18' & 7' unless the fish are really shy then its 40' & 18'

I use a 40 on top, 18 in the middle and 5 on the bottom with a snubber.

It's a rubber shock absorber used between the shank and leader.

30 foot 15 foot and a 6 foot kicker on the bottom. $1,97 / 100,000 yrds of line in 25 lb. otherwise the cheep stuff . I like the strech when handlining. Thats just me. I do like to run 30 lb on my kicker.

30 foot and 15 foot both mason line
kicker 6 foot 17 pd berkley

these lengths have caught me over 75 fish so far this spring
also make my own shanks......the different heights do make a significant difference
