I am thinking about picking up a couple of new rods for long lines/ corner rods. Has anyone ever used dipsy rods for pulling muskie baits? (Without the dipsy) It seems as if some 10' dipsy rods would fit into my rigging plan just right. Any opinions, suggestions on rods?
Thanks.

Paul, I don't think mine are the best thing going or anything but they might be worth a look next time you go to Lakeside. They are First Mate rods by Shakespeare (10 footers) and have plenty of backbone for Muskie. I use them for my long rods for Muskie but have also used them with dipsies and they work decent for both. Good luck on your decision! :)

Thanks John. I'll head to Lakeside tonight. I never get out of there without getting at least twice the stuff I intended to. Muskie fever in the lake has set in, I am getting tired of chasing those fish in the river, boat traffic in there has picked up considerably the past couple of weeks. Damn pleasure boaters.LOL

I recommend the 10' RP2 Custom Rods for both of these. they make a dipsy version which has a salmon on it, and muskie version which has a muskie pic on it. the dipsy normally has a roller tip and the muskie carballoy tip top. either one will work great for either application.

The fever has set in, but it didn't kill my brain yet.;)
Time to start thinking about new rigs, tying up leaders etc......
