Got home from Tawas at about 7:00 and decided to give it a try for a couple hours last night. Didnt get set up until about 8:15. First fish hit while working the line out, a nice 20 incher. Next one came about a half hour later 18 incher. Both fish just slammed the bates. They felt a lot larger and when I got em in the boat both had one set of hooks in the mouth and the other in the side. The wind then picked up and they shut right off. Only stayed until 10:00. First fish came on firetiger #13 Rap, second on a firetiger nite stalker.
Not a bad couple hours though.

Larry,
We went out of Marysville Sunday night and got skunked. Did well on Friday night. The wind was playing havoc on our boat and others. Most of the boats left before we did at 10:30pm.

You guys must have missed the timing by a little, we got there around 11:30, setup around 12:15 , we caught 18 fish...released 6 and lost about 5-6 as well...not to bad for the first whipping trip of the year
For those that stayed, look slike some type of search was going on up north or Marysville, Coast Guard Chopper flying around the shoreline with the spotlight on as well as a bunch of police boats searching the water...anyone have any news?

Hey ahasiec are you fishing with a guy named Jared? That would be my son. He told me the identical story. He and the guy he was fishing with caught 18 released 6 and saw the chopper looking for someone.

Thanks for the report asasiec :) .
We were saying the fish were going to turn on later, but couldn't stay later than we did.
That jumper from the Blue Water Bridge will be the third person to jump this year.

Andy, Jared and I are heading out tonight (Wed) around midnight. I'll let you know how we did. This is the first time Jared and I have had a chance to fish together. I can't wait to get out there. Take care.

We went out last night around 12:30 AM.and launched at Marine City. Jared and I caught 10 nice ones and lost 4. We were back to the launch by 3:45 AM. Jared catches at least two for every one that I get but he's been doing that since he was 5 years old so I'm used to it. A great night with a great son.

I stopped by Jared's this afternoon and helped him move some of the leftover rock...saw the catch from last night, very nice looking fish probably about the same size we caught on Sunday night...I am glad that you guys did well.
I did see that you posted " a great night with a great son"...are we talking about the same Jared ;)
Just kidding..congrats on a great trip
