Got any recipes for flavored butter?

Here's a real basic one that works on just about anything:

1/2 cup butter
1 or 2 cloves garlic, crushed and minced

Beat 1/2 cup butter; blend in garlic. Spread on bread for garlic bread or use on fish, chicken, or vegetables.

It works best when you let the butter sit for a while and soften. You can melt the butter in a pan on low heat and add the garlic and simmer for a bit before removing from the heat and then transferring to another container, but the garlic and whatever herbs you might add will tend to settle as it cools.

If I use this method, I put the mix in the freezer right below the fan and stir every four or five minutes until it cools and reaches a more solid consistancy.

Anyone else making flavored butters?

Alot of times i'll mix butter with soup base"Chicken or Beef" and maybe add some seasonings "hot stuff" depending on what i'm cooking.
Always use it in my mashed potatos and to baste baked or grilled chicken, stakes, ribs you name it.
i hit Flat rock the other night "friday" nothing but carp are in.
i landed my share on size 12 phesant tail nymphs, had to break out the fly rod after having my line break 3 times on the Bass rod.

The guys across the river throwing Mr.Twisters thought they needed to cast all the way over to me tangling my line 4 times on the fly rod.
i hand a nice carp on until one of the guys caught my line and in return i spooled his bail of braided line in my hand then threw it back to him waded in a nice ball of knots and then on my merry way to the truck :smile-mad
Had a blast while i was there, even if they were carp.
See ya on the river Chris.
