Even though the new Nitro Shiners retooled by Dave's Lures to create the new Ruby Red is exciting, the actual use of these particular lures by me (and I'm guessing others) would have been fairly limited on the Saginaw Bay.
The longer/larger type crankbaits, including the full size T-sticks and 1/2 ounce Tot's, used to be quit productive during the summer season on the Bay, when the waters were more stained. And even though the bigger sized Husky jerks and the #18 Rapalas have a spring time nitch, this (I'm thinking) has more to do with the smelt run and their larger size being the prefered baitfish choice. But since the waters have been cleaned these last few years by the Zebra Mussels, the smaller crankbaits the size of the Rattle Tot on down to a big degree, seem to be more productive.
Well, Dave seems to be staying ahead of the game with yet another member to the Ka'Boom family. He's applying the Ruby Red idea to the Winning Streaks as well. Thats is, molded red lip and red hooks. I'm guessing these will be both more successful fish wise and find a better fallowing with us Saginaw Bay walleye junkies than the Ruby Red Nitro's.
Daves working on a picture of just what these new RR Streaks will look like. And I'll share that with all my michigan-sportsman brothers and sisters when he e-mails it to me. You guys will see it, even before the retailers will.
