thunder bay walleyes hitting

i fished last night on thunder bay out from alpena. fish was pretty good. we landed 4 lost 1 at the net and had 3 more come unbuttoned. that adds up to 8 hits between about 8pm and 11pm. we lost what appeared would have been our largest fish right at the net( a hook got caught in the net and the fish shook off the 18 rapala) but the fish we did put in the boat ranged from 6# to 8#. we fished north shore with #18 rapalas trolling between 1.5 mph and 2.5 mph. not too bad for 3 hours work.

I love fishing the Thunder Bay must be the home town thing in my blood. I have never fished it at night but a few times during the day. I also had a real calm day out there and dropped down my camera on a couple wrecks, now that was really cool. Wish I lived closer to Alpena. Nels/Skeeter
