Headed to Kensington Metro Park Saturday morning for a picninc with a group of people. Taking the poles along just incase. My question is, is there any good fishing there? Anyone want to share a "hot spot"? Should I rent a row boat or fish from shore?
I will have my 2 1/2 yr. old boy with me, It would be great to be able to keep him interested, even if it's just little ones.:fish:
Thanks for any help.

Chris,
With a 2 1/2 year old, the best thing would be to bobber fish with garden worms for bluegills-any place off shore would be fine. You will catch some. Make sure to take a bucket to put fish in so they can watch them swim around-at that age, they love it. One thing I do though is start teaching them that they must not kill anything they are not going to eat-use, so they can only keep it for a short time (usually until we catch another one). (I have 4 kids-ages 4-13 and they all love the water and fishing)
Have fun!

Jim,
I take my boy to Metro beach alot - and I'll agree withthe bucket tactic. It doesn't matter what size fish you put in a bucket of water, it'll keep him busy till I'm ready to leave.

Thats a great idea!! bucket trick that is, I always take my neice fishing and this year im going to have to let her use a hook.lol She always uses the plastic casting lure that come with the Barbie fishing pole. Im suprised how good those things are, great quality. I can accurately cast that 3 ft. rod 50 feet.
