Need Help finding a place to fish

I'll be heading down to the St. Joes/Benton Harbor area this up coming weekend, and was wondering where is a good spot to fish, and for what? I have pretty much any type of tackle and lures. I'll be spending some time with the in-laws, and may need some relief on the water. Won't have a boat, so shore fishing or wading is a must. Thanks for any tips. I've never been to the area, so I will probably need some good directions.
