Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum-never posted before but I have been reading for a while-seems like a great bunch of folks.
Does anyone know of any baitshops in Livonia, Plymouth or Ann Arbor area that sell minnows? The only one I know of is in Ypsi-at the dam.
Thanks,
Jim

These are the next closest that I know of (I live North of Ann Arbor and my list is slanted that way!)
Log cabin hardware on McGregor rd or Dexter Mill out near Dexter
Marina just off of US23 on 8 mile near Whitmore lake
Midwest sports on the corner of Grand River and old 23 in Brighton
Don't know any towards Plymouth and Livonia. There might be something down in Hines park???

For future refrence...Here is a website that I created using every search I could find. It has bait shops throughout the state listed by city. This was a school assignment 2 years ago, but I am still attempting to keep it current. With the help of many from this site, I have been doing that so far..
Hope it helps...

Log Cabin is great. They are connected to a hardware store, so if you need a last minute item for house or boat, while getting bait, you can do it. Friendly staff also.
Mill Creek Sporting Goods on Island Lake Road on the west end of the village of Dexter is a full line bait shop, plus archery and indoor pistol range. It's diagonally across the street from A&W restaurant and near the small stone train trestle.
North Lake County Store on North Territorial Road used to sell minnows, not sure if they still do.
There's also a place on M-50 just east of Clinton, MI called "Pine..." something or other. Neat place, they have crickets also.

The marina on whitmore is hardly open..... I think that the best bait around can be found at Dicks Sport Center. (and no I dont work there lol) They have a super friendly staff, great selection of all your needs and fair prices. They have never steered me wrong. Another place is on Milford road by the entrance to Kensington. The name is Holdens Party store. (kinda high on prices). The last is a sport shop on the corner of old 23 and (silver lake I think) Super high prices, dirty minnow tanks etc etc, but it works in a pinch. Hope I haven't offended any one by posting the negative but we have to look out for each other.
Good Luck

There is a new one (new management) in Commerce on Benstein and Oakley Park. Lakeside II used to be the place but it is closed. One near Union Lake seems to only be open when the fishing is slow. :coco:
When I lived in livonia I'd just head over to hines and catch my own chubs.
It's great to be in Monroe, tons of bait shops and there is always Cabelas. :)

Funny you mention that, I used to go to Bell Creek park in Redford to catch my chubs for bass and pike at Newburgh Lake (before they drained it and restocked)... :coolgleam

Guys,
Thanks a lot for all the great tips. I am going out to fish some of the lakes around Pinckney this weekend, I'll let you all now how I did.
