was out with scottyhoover on opening day didnt look like anyone was killin em. water is still low the occasional prop polish or stump in 10 fow. and up river looked like choco milk on saturday, i imagine fishing will improve greatly once the level is back up and settled down. make it easier to troll with that extra 4 fow under ya

They are supposed to bring the water up May 1. Only seen or heard of a few being caught yet out of the lake. Caught 6 at the dam last sunday (4 under 15"), but nothing since then.

on opening day we came down by the dam in the boat and Ozzgood says "wow Look at the parking lot down there, its pretty full". I said oh buddy it's opening day of walleye season you wouldn't beleive the combat mess that is going on down below. But like i said we got skunked above the dam. tight lines...

Explain the water situation to me. I don't understand how they're saying the water is up in the Fenton area on the chain of lakes. The Flint River hardly has water in it. If they shut down the flow at at Holloway, it will be interesting to see where that leaves the level by me.

A friend of mine was out last Saturday and caught three keepers. Don't know the details but he did catch a few.

The Fenton area is a different branch of the river than the Halloway/ Mott L. branch.

I understand that. I'm just wondering why my level is down so low. I just found it interesting that the media made it a story that Fenton ($$) had its levels rising. How many feet is Holloway down? Did they close the damn today to raise the level? I'm running down to my property in a few minutes to do some work. I'll check the level of the water.

fished it again today, tons of cats, one dinky walleye. I did not check to see if the dam is closed but I think it is. Also fished the river a few spots below the dam also no walleye. Robin I would bet its going to get a bit dry out your way.

Scotty where were you catching the cats at and what were you using..............were they decent sized?

i woudn't even complain if the cats were decent size and good fighting, but they are all just runts every one of them. Right now any thing from 8 to 14fow is producing cats just put on a nighcrawler and a slip sinker and drift with the wind. Had a few bites on minnows but missed them all....could have been the 'eyes.

On a side note, Attn. Esox, some very large holloway fish stole a J-7 firetiger rap from me the other night and I want it back. Had to have been a pike or musky, just don't think a wally busted my line. Heading out on this beautiful evening gonna try some trolling.

Something has to pop this week the water is warming and rising. No one I have talked to has seen a big crappie spawn push but if its gonna happen I would think is is the week.

I'll get right on that Scotty.;) Actually, I'll be chasing the elusive bugle lips Sunday on the Belle River. Hopefully I'll have some walleye in the fridge from Saturdays upcoming foray on LSC before then. You weren't fishing up by town by any chance were you? Hooked a pig pike up there doing the C&R bass thing. That beast made mincemeat out of 14# Floro.........:tdo12:

Caught 5 keepers last night and gave them to a buddy (smallest 16 1/2 largest 18 3/4). Other ones were caught but they were nothing to write home about. All caught on 1/4 oz. jig heads and twisters.

We caught a few small mouth and a large mouth but no walleye. Where do they catch most of the walleye. Is it all over or closer to the dam. Could you get them from the boat launch in town. Thanks

I have been catching mine north of the Mt. Morris Road bridge and also trolling the bowl on the west side of Goose Point with just a crawler on a single hook with two splits to keep it down. While trolling I losen my drag all the way until the bite. This helps with the light hits and works great for me.

i've seen a few boats making that exact same loop by the point. went up in there and I picked up a fish right away on a reef runner. Be out again today if the weather cooperates.

Hi,
Me and my friend fished the dam the other weekend. the place was packed you could hardly get your line out. you really need waders to do well. we seen a couple of walleyes caught but they were small.

GOOD LUCK
A.J.
