I just wanted to give a kudo to Richard Graves our sponsor at First Capital Corp. We recently refied through him and he went way over and beyond the call of duty for us. Shopped around and found us the best possible rate, made sure we got an actual copy of the appraisal, was actually present at the closing, etc, etc. Can't say enough good stuff about him. If you are looking for home financing or a refi please contact:
http://www.firstcapitalcorp.com/
And ask for Richard Graves.

For all of you folks who have taken a Home Equity Line of Credit, INTEREST ONLY, it is time to get busy and read the note that you signed. Somewhere in the note, the interest only payment is based on the prime rate. When it begins to rise, which may be the end of June, you could get stung, your rate will start to rise.
Maybe it is time to call your lender and find out what the fixed rate is today, and what it may be if the prime rate goes up .25-.50. Find out what the rate will be if you "lock it in today". When the "do-doo" hits the fan and Allen starts raising the prime rate a .25 here a .50 there, you could be paying 10% on these types of loans by Christmas.
Read what you have signed and BE-AWARE :bash:
Hope this makes sense :fish:

I received a call from Craig on 7/26/2004 at about 6:00 P.M., inquiring about a mortgage. Unfortunately I could not understand the telephone number. If you should receive this message, please try again on my cell phone, 586-909-0375. Could not track you down through the members list. Don't want you to think that I am ignoring you, just don't have a way to contact you. :bash:

For the viewers who use this forum and use a personal or business checking account, you should be aware of this new banking law.
http://www.consumersunion.org/finance/ckclear1002.htm
It appears that you will no longer be able to use a "float" on your checking account, meaning that you write a check today, counting on making a deposit in two or three days to cover the check. Apparently the check that you write today will be scanned upon receipt and immediately deducted from your checking account. If your bank account is short the retailer will refuse to accept the check and you will be charged an "overdraft" fee.
Click the above link, you may just want to print this out and keep it with your banking records. :dizzy:

Dick,
Do you handle many mortgages in SW Michigan? I own an appraisal firm that may be of service to you in the Grand Rapids area. :)

Was not quite sure where to post this information, anyway, if your computer is running slow with too many pop ups driving you a little crazy, Spybot offers a FREE download for their spy ware program.
When I first ran it, which took about 1.5 hours to scan the whole hard drive, the program found and destroyed about 632 various worms, virsuses, etc.
Not quite sure how it works, but since using this program, I have no pop-ups, computer runs like new and all the junk is GONE :dizzy:
Give it a try here www.spybot.info if you have problems let me know. :bash:

The Federal Reserve announced another interest rate hike last week. Homeowners with adjustable rate mortgages nearing adjustment, or with large balances on lines of credit, don't miss this chance for a fixed-rate saftey play.
For a free mortgage compairson give me a call at 586-909-0375 or contact your lender, it is time to use caution about the cost of Adjustable Rate mortgages.
30 Year fixed rates are approaching 6.25% for qualified borrowers. :bash:
