:bouncy: i will have to keep this breif because it would take a novel to tell the story of the wounderfull day my cousin and i had today..i got my bird on Monday so we have been trying to close the deal on a bird for him..He is a awsome caller and today proved it..long story short..we had about 9 gooblers going off all morning..7 close:::sunny morning/no wind/perfect. he called up 6 birds that we saw , just not close enough for a good shot..then he called up some hens..and that is when the trouble started..we head what we thought was a tom breeding a hen..but after 10 mins we were like nope..that is a fight..he belly crawled up the hill about 60yards and watched 2 nice toms thump eachother for about 15 minutes...they were on private property that we dont have permission to hunt so all he could do is watch (he said the show was worth it ) anyway---a jake came in to see what the ruccuss was about and Ross shot him at 50yards #5 shot/federals...turned his head into a marocka... :D he said the bird was the bonus because watching toms fight is a thing not everyone gets to see..(thank you god) it must be because i did not see anything (i heard it all) and i was excited like buck fever ..lol
Wow...just the perfect end to our season and i feel very greatfull to have witness everything i did...BTW: toms started gobbleing at daybreak and neverstoped even after he shot his bird they were still yellen.. :xzicon_sm
