I'm in the market for a new scope and am leaning toward a Nikon. Can anyone give me any recommendations and ideas as to who has the best supply, price, etc in northern Mi?

DFR, I have 2 Nikons a 4X on my MD70 30.06 that is about 11 years old and 3X9 on my .223. Both have worked very well for me and have been very durable. Gander Moutain, Cabelas or Bass Pro all have good selections and reasonable prices. Good luck w/ whatever you choose.

I put a Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 on my .30-06 about 3 years ago. I was a student at CMU at the time and therefore made my purchase at Jay's. They were very friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. They steered me away from other brands that were overpriced when compared to the Nikon.

My dad just put a Bausch & Lomb on his rifle and has been happy with it also. Though both are very nice scopes, I find the Nikon to be clearer and easier to see through.

Myself I prefer the Leupold which I have mounted on 2 guns, 2x7x33 on my 30-06 and a 3x9x40 on my Muzzle-loader. I have used Leupold scopes for many years without any problems, they are very clear and will not fog up, rain, snow and cold weather has never effected them. Good luck with your purchase as you will be the one who decides, after all the post here and your marketing for prices and etc.

I have posted befor on the scope issue. I am and will always be a massive fan of Nikon. They are everything a leopold is at a cheaper price. I use to use leopold and have now sold all of mine and have replaced them with nikon. Both the Monarch and Buckmaster are top. The only difference is the coating. By the way, who leads in camera quality lenses? Put them side by side and look through them at the same time. No challenge, nikon will give you a better picture. Good luck
