Proposal would raise minimum age to ride personal watercraft without parent to 16
FARMINGTON HILLS — Daniel LaBelle won’t turn 12 until June, but he’s already anticipating his 14th birthday, when he can legally ride a personal watercraft. “I’m looking forward to it,” Daniel said. “I just love doing it with my dad.” A proposal in Lansing would postpone that day for two years by raising the minimum age to 16 for riding the popular watercraft best known by trademark names like Sea Doo and Jet Ski.
