Overall, the new software seems pretty slick. However, maybe it's just me, but I find the new thread layout to be harder to read/skim the messages in a thread.

The old style had the user profile information on the left, with the message bodies on the right. Yeah, it had the Quote and Reply buttons at the bottom of each message, but they were small enough to not be a big distraction.

Now the user profile information sprawls across the top of each message, and when I'm reading through a lot of messages, it seems to be kind of cluttered. What do you think?

Is this something I can change in my personal settings?

Thanks for the hard work, Steve. Like I said, for the most part, it's really nice.

look at the top right of the first post in a thread and play with the display modes. Personally, I like the default one the best.

The old style had the user profile information on the left,
I did think that was a better use of space also.

Esox: as far as I can tell, none of the display modes have any effect on the layout of the message. They just switch between viewing the entire thread, viewing the entire thread with a thread index, and viewing single messages at a time. ???
