adding platform

The boat that I just baught has a little 2 foot swim platform on it. I would like to have a platform that goes across the entire back of the boat, so I can store a larger cooler in the midddle above the outdrive. Can anyone tell me if they sell aftermarket things like this? would the transom support the longer platform?

Post a pic of what you have right now. On the 2 boats that I've had, the outdrive is too high to mount a platform above, an have it be usefull. I have a small 2' platform now, and would have to mount one in the middle about one foot higher to leave room for the outdrive, if I wanted to throw a cooler back there. Your boat may be different. I've seen boats with 3 platforms in the back, 2 for stepping on either side, and one for the cooler in the middle. I find that the one that's on the boat now requires a little extra effort to work around for setting lines on the rigger near it, and would not want to add one to the other side.

sorry to sound like the devils advocate, just wanted to give you something to consider.
