waxing question

Hey guys...

I need to wax my boat this spring before I get too busy fishing! My question is this: Can I use an old non-scented candle for use on the bottom of my aluminum hull? I would use the regular turtle wax on the painted surfaces, but the regular aluminum I am thinking of rubbing on this candle wax. Am I crazy or off my rocker?
