What year is the starter? I know a place called Allen Boats in Algonac that may pull you an old one off the shelf for 50 bucks or so. That's a bit out of your way, but I could pick it up for you and meet you at Hall rd and John R, where I reluctantly spend most of my time during the week. Allen boats is an excellent OMC parts place, where, contrary to popular belief, the old starters are cheaper than you would think. NEW.
I've also had a few GM starters rebuilt myself, and I just dropped 'em off at the local auto parts store. They ship them out to there favorite rebuiders anyway. That's the easiest way I've found, if I'm in a jam........
