Aloha from Hawaii, Just registered on this sight and wanted to introduce myself. It's been a couple of years since I've visited. I currently reside here in Honolulu (formerly of Ann Arbor), but my heart is still in Michigan. I mainly fly fish the Huron river and Ford lake killin' buckets and smallies. Now I fly rod the reefs here on the south and east facing shores of Oahu. I'll be the first one to tell you that saltwater fly fishing requires alot of patience. It is a completely different ball game. If I haul in just one fish in a day, that is a very productive day. The coral reefs are very large and the fish are few and far between. There are alot of small, colorful reef fish but they rarely hit the fly patterns that I fish with. I'm after bonefish and 'cudas who spook more easily than any freshwater species I've fished for. The main problem, I think, is the clarity of the water and the nervousness of the fish. But when you do hook a six pound bonefish or a 40" barracuda, every other unproductive day seems to disapear. I just pray that I don't become shark food. Anyway, just thought I should give a shout out, so when any of you guys happen to find your way to paradise here, I'd be more than happy to show you around. Take it easy yall. Mike
