After 250 posts, I think it's about time I introduce myself...:D
My first name is Craig. I am 33 years old. My screen name is my 3 year old son's name and birthdate. He will learn how to fish for the 1st time this summer...
Anyway, I live a stone's throw from South Lyon, and have lived out here for 4 years now. Originally from Detroit, I spent 29 years there before starting a new life and family out here. Living in Detroit all those years afforded me the opportunity to fish the Detroit River and become a halfway decent walleye and perch fisherman.
With that said, those are my 2 favorites to fish for with crappies and bluegills tied closely for second favorite. Being shorebound for the most part, I have had to find many a shorefishing location. I think that's why I enjoy ice fishing more than open water. I try to fish 100 days a year but probably fish around 75.
After meeting and fishing with over two dozen people from this site, I can honestly say that I feel priviledged to be here. The knowledge of some of the people out here outmeasures any fishing how-to video or TV show.
Like I said earlier, not having a boat is a great inconvenience for me. But it's OK because I've learned how to find spots that produce off shore. (I just wish public access was a little better on the river and LSC)
I generally start the open water season trying to find the perch til
May 1st, then I go out in my brother's boat and jig up walleyes in the river, after June 1st, I do a little of everything...I do alot perch fishing up around Harsen's Island and catch nice fish all summer long...
Well I guess that about does it. Hope to meet and fish with more and more of you in the weeks and months ahead...
