finally got the old boat out . took the HEAT SEEKER and two buddies to the usual spots on the river . we fished the north river and a little into lake st. clair. picked up a 5 pounder and a musky in the lake in 24 feet of water jigging plastic with a zoom shad and a green twister.so much for the first hour. proceded to miss the last 5 fish and saw a lot of river rats handlining going in by noon.a few guys had 2 - 4 fish bit they were mostly small males.best spots were along the wall from 16-24 feet on the dropoff from the trailer park on down . marked a lot of fish. fished 9:30 to 2. gave up , it was a little colder than advertized. the shakedown cruise was a success, lowe makes a smooth riding boat.i just the head shakers would have stuck on the hooks better. I'm tired out, gotta get some rest . Dan

the clarity on the american side was a nice green. visibility was a foot or two . didn't really look cause it was good. Canada ,from the tip of peach on down was mud, mud ,mud. saw a few boats at the sand piles and just before the high rise. also , dont overlook the belle isle bridge. talked to a guy who got 2 there.ed, i'm sure you know which opening on the bridge to start looking.

DT I know a spot or 2 in that area ;) Looks like I'll be out Friday afternoon.

DT when you say the old river rats went in at noon. Do you think they had there limit? or just got bored?

george(the poacher) in the old red junker said 3 that could be 3 limits. the guy in the white alum boat with the bow covered said 2 and the green crestliner with the honda and the 16 foot sylvan said zip. im sure you've never seen any of these boats out there.thats all the guys i remember asking except the guy by the bridge that had 2. it was kinda slow. Yep Ed,

I've heard the same thing, when an Old River Rats give two fingers it means 2 limits or Twenty. etc

Unfortunately when I say two it means two.

remember , that george has been fined 5 times for poaching.whenever you eat walleye in some of the finer resteraunts near the river that george probably supplied them at one time or another.I'd like to stop him , but who am I.he is on the river before dawn and makes his living out there. as long as he fishes without nets or explosives how can i stop it.he is always nice too me.you're right, these guys only hold up 2 fingers because their hands are too arthritic from pulling wire to put up any more.
