bolodunn, I have had smoked sucker before and it was good. The only problem I had was getting by the fact that they are a bottom feeder. Once I was past that I was home free.

I would like to put one through my grinder and make patties out of it. But I'm having the same problems Tubejig did, don't care too much for bottom feeders. I don't even like catfish unless you spice the bejeezus out of it.

I stopped by Flat Rock for a little while yesterday. In the warm temps there were tons of kids fishing which I thought was pretty cool. I noticed some young ones fishing across the river (maybe 11 yrs) without any adults. One kid hooked a fish and reeled it in while his buddy jumped up and down with excitement. The buddy reaches over for the other one and pulls his line up to see a sucker. He saw that and dropped immediately. I couldn't hear them but I'm sure he said, "I'm not touching that thing". :D I don't know if they ever got that thing off the hook. It was pretty cool though watching some of the youngsters hooking suckers and walleye. I saw all fish go back so it was a good day for everyone.
The one bank was black with minnows which explained the 36"+ muskie sitting at my feet feeding on them.

Most likely steelhead with hopes of hooking anything. I chucked some flies there yesterday for about an hour but got fed up with the snags. I'm pretty familiar with the snags from the rocks but there's a ton of mono in there that frustrated me so I left.

Fished last night from 1-6am.
Seen lots of chrome ones trying to get over and dark ones also.
2 nice size ones were taken out on stringers. One when i got there and a guy landed one on his second cast (big male.)as i was leaving.
Seen a few taged eyes caught,Looks like their sliming down in numbers which is good for the steelys.
The warter is pretty low with a good Harpo's toilet bowl stain.i threw everything from size 22-8 you name it's with no luck, except for eyes.

Hey all ... noticed this thread and wondered exactly where ya'll were fishin ... Just moved to flatrock and did notice a great riverwalk area off Telegraph near the Dairy Queen & Mich. State police. Is this where you folks were? I know it looks like a great spot ... hows the fishing there or anywhere near here?
Im itching to get a line back in the water. Just moved here to Flatrock from the Stony Creek Metro Park/Shelby Twp area ... did some fishing there last year but really want to do more this year.
Let me know guys!
Thanks
