I found this site while looking for ice fishing forums. Even though I've posted a few times over the last couple of months, lurked a bit longer, but haven't as of yet introduced myself. So having a few minutes, I figured I'd catch up on my manners and say hello. I guess this is the section for it.
I'm 38, live in the Traverse City area, and hunt and fish whenever I have a free minute and even some times when I can't. While I've hunted about everything that you can in MI, I pretty much just stick with birds, primarily grouse and woodcock and maybe turkey every other year or so anymore. Used to fish a lot more that I do now, but I'm getting slowly back into it after a couple of years of putting fishing on the back burner. When the water's soft, I generally chase walleye and big water fish. When it's hard, it doesn't matter much as long as I have fun.
Don't know what more to say other than hello again.

BW,
Welcome to the site. Seems like a lot of sportsmen from this part of the state are signing on. We had a Meet n' Greet in Traverse City about a month ago, I think there were more than a dozen of us there, a great time. Watch the outings forum for the next one and try to make it.
By the way, how did you come up with your username?

I saw the announcement but was tied up and couldn't make it. Plus, I'm not the most socialable sort when it comes to talking about hunting and fishing. I generally just stick to myself. I know, it's a character flaw but we all have 'em. :-)
The username is just an expression of my inner child, ID, etc. :-)

Welcome aboard BW!
I would urge you to keep an eye out for another TC Meet n' Greet. The friendships formed here and the comaraderie are not to be found anywhere else. Even when we disagree, we do so nicely!!! Well, maybe that isn't always true........LOL!
I'm keeping a list of MS members in the NW part of MI to contact them if we plan an "event".
If you enjoy big water fishing you should join us for the Annual Manistee Labor Day Weekend Michigan Sportsman Salmon and Trout Fun Tournament. It is a real hoot and you'll get to meet some excellent guys and some super fishermen.
Butch,
We need another "event", one with some fishing action. Any ideas?

Whit,
There should be some brown and/or steel action going on along the beaches and maybe the Frankfort and Elberta piers. At least two of the docks are in at the Frankfort launch site. Lots of places to meet for meals in that area, too.
I talked to one friend today that got three small (2-3 pound) browns off the Elberta pier after work last night, but another friend trolled inside the harbor today and only got one.
One thing to remember, the playoffs are on and the Wings are playing on both Saturday (3PM) and Sunday (4PM) afternoons this coming weekend, April 10 & 11. Game 6, if necessary, will be 3PM Saturday April 17.

Butch,
And let's not forget The Masters is on this weekend as well.
Let's keep all of this in mind and get something together.
George/Danno and I will be fishing (his boat) out of Frankfort on Saturday AM.
