Worked this morning so I missed all that nice calm air and a chance to launch. Hit the lake with my boys about 1:30 with the wind blowing a bit WSW. Found a spot on the shore where we were casting into the wind and 3' of water with isolated weed patches coming up. Second cast and the game was on. A nice feisty little northern. From there on out even the 3 yr old was busy enough to keep interested. As the afternoon progressed we had to keep moving to keep the wind in our faces as the wind shifted to WNW, even had to move far enough once that we hopped in the truck, which was about a mile away by then, for a long move. No big fish, I think our biggest was 34" but we sure kept busy. Gotta love spring.:)

Paul, what types of baits are you using? This time of the year I've only fished the bobber/shiner and a dual bladed 1 1/2 oz Big fin....

J-13 floating raps, 1oz Red Eyes, 3/4 oz Johnson silver minnows tipped with a 4" powerbait Bungee, and Storm Wild Eye Minnows, both regular and neutral bouyancy.
Those wild eyes are new to me, they arent very weed resistant, but they cast like a bullet.
Went out yestersday afternoon. No hits. no action at all.
