It was a slow day for my fishing partner and myself.
We both had only one fish each for a morning of handlining on the upper Detroit River.
He caught a nice 18 inch male walleye on a #7 clown 15 feet back.
His first ever fish handlining!!!
I can't complain about the fish I caught on a #9 silver/chartruse jointed rapala 30ft back. Turned out to be a nice 25.5 inch bright male Steelhead. I just can't seem to keep those pesky salmonoids off my line lately:rolleyes: ;) :D

Hey LB, nice fish.......my 'eyes' aren't good enough to see that;) click on the little pic to make it bigger and then copy the properties and paste it in the IMG box above the reply screen.
That had to be fun, pulling wire and hooking up with that....

Yeah, it was a blast! And a surprise.....that far up the river.
That fish was very fresh when it came to the boat. I was very lucky to get it in the net, the split ring on the J-9 was nearly pulled open. I'm sure a few more good tugs and it would have been over.
This is the second salmonoid I've landed in the river this season and they are just tearing up my tackle.
The King I caught last week destroyed a J-7 "Firetiger", actually broke the front part of the body apart exposing the wire that holds it together.
My partner had a big hit then , bye-bye to the lure. We saw two Muskys landed in the same area yesterday, by the rear range marker in the upper river, and by the looks of the leader it was a musky that swiped the brand new #7 clown.
Thanks for the tip on the pic....I'll get the hang of it soon.
