I have a 115 Johnson. There is one starting battery and then two deep cycles that run the 24v trolling motor. Off one of the trolling batteries I run the electric down riggers. All the other electronics are operated off the starting battery. The starting battery shows fully charged on the charger BUT when I try to raise the motor or start it nothing happens. If I put the charger on the strating battery I can get it to raise but not turn over when I try to start it. When I put jumper cables on the deep cycle that runs the down riggers nothing changes. When I put the cables on the deep cycle that runs nothing but the trolling motor (which is not hooked up) the motor chanks over good and I could start it if I wanted to. I'm guessing that I have a problem with BOTH the starting and deep cycle battery that powers the deep cycle. Sound right or do I have bigger problems?

Take your batteries to some place that can check them for "load". Or buy a tester yourself. Some batteries when going bad will still run a radio and such but doesn't have enough amps to start a motor or starter. They take alot of amps while a radio very little.
