Our little buddy President Chirac seems to be taking a little pounding. As I look at all our so called friendly socialistic countries I am once again reminded what a great country I live in. All the socialistic countries unemployment is in double digits there health care is in shambles and they seem to sway in the wind on all topics. From articles I have read the majority of the Presidents only gain their wealth once reaching leadership by using their countries posturing to benefit themselves not the people. Revisit the posturing of France and Germany after 9/11 and I think one can see the ideology. Here is a quote out of an article I will post at the end that comes from the French finance minister whom I think just got fired.
the French "are frightened ... and stick their heads in the sand."
Wow! And how many of us have thought that for awhile?

What scares me most is that we now have a movement in this country that wants to go socialistic. It is the far left of the Democratic Party and they have just elected the man to try and lead us into that new realm. The Democratic platform has progressed thru the years as a more socialistic party with ideology like more taxes, bigger government control etc… Whether you want to admit it or not it’s the fact. Let’s take one of the big contributors to the Democratic Party moveon.org. Now here is a group of far left liberals who most have come out and said they hate their own country. Promised to move out of this country if a republican was elected (I see their people of their word. Not!). Most have homes and live in France a good part of the year. Interesting to say the least. Kerry has admitted that his organization has been in contact with foreign leaders talking about our countries foreign policy. Anybody care to guess who they are? The way I look at it this fall I will be voting for democracy or socialism. I know for sure I do not want to go the way of the Germans, Canada, or French. :D

Ray, I don't want to either.

If you take a long term look at the direction we are going you can see we've been heading there for quite some time. If the republican party is going to be our salvation, they'll have to do alot better than just slow this trend down on the occasions when they're in power. And the only way they'll do that is to get more voter support. If they don't do so soon it'll be too late, if it isn't already. Government dependence grows with each new generation.:(

We shouldn't have to depend on our government for our basic needs or our moral fiber. Both of these dependencies promote government control and restrict liberty. I refuse to support either. The fact that the 2 major parties promote these dependencies shows little faith and trust in the American people. Why should I support those who don't trust me?;)

You might want to see how much the goverment has grown since Bush took office. He is almost ahead of clinton now. It's both partys not just one.

Im postitive that 1/3rd of the goverment could easily be cut out while plenty more if they tried even harder to streamline the beuracacy. I know so many people on welfare that should not be recieving it, do they even check on these people?? It's a free ride at our exspense. I'm all for helping those who need it badly but put it on a time limit so that they have enough to get out of the hole and become self sufficient instead of relying on a check every week for years.

We've been partly socialist for about a century now, it's not really any diffrent with either side since every president that takes office the goverment seems to a grow a little more anyway. Programs like promoting marriage from the Bush office is a type of socialism

I think you just have to find a balance somewhere and stick with it.

I still say we need universal health care or some other systyem. Just the fact when my mother had a stroke they made her transfer to another hospital almost immediatly because of her insurance was a complete joke, as is not giving care to someone who needs it urgently because they don't have a healthcare plan or $$$

I spent 4 hours in the ER for a kidney stone and was billed around $2700 overall.
