When calling Gov. Granholm's office regarding the dove issue, you might want to take the time to first thank her for signing into law HB 4599 and HB 4011, both of which expanded Sunday hunting opportunities in Michigan....then ask her to continue fulfilling her campaign promises to sportsmen and sign the dove bill....How does the saying go..."You get more with honey..."

My administration will boost efforts to protect and sustain fish and wildlife populations to ensure Michigan remains an outdoorsman's paradise.

She has committed to take politics out of conservation and restore professional management of our wildlife, fisheries, forests, recreational lands and other resources. She strongly supports enforcement of conservation laws.

Bravo Jenny!
Did I just say that?

Guess I did.

You won't be saying bravo Jenny when she vetoes the Dove bill as she has said she will.

Here's the link to her office. We need to light her office up with feedback regarding her wish to veto the dove bill. If she is bombarded with sportsmen and women on this one, she will come around. We can and will make a difference! We've come too far to let it slip away now.

I sent the Govorner a nice but firm responce to the Dove hunting issue. I do think she will not sign this bill however, due in most part by pure preassure from her side of the road.
Sad situation for hunters - but nothing new.

That said, I still have my fingers crossed!

My understanding, and I could be wrong, was that she would not sign it or veto it thus making it a law in 14 days or something to that effect.

I understood she will veto the dove bill.

I sent her this message:

Thank you for signing into law HB 4599 and HB 4011.

Gov. Granholm's words: My administration will boost efforts to protect and sustain fish and wildlife populations to ensure Michigan remains an outdoorsman's paradise.

Please back up your words by signing into law the dove bill.

thank you in advance.

She has, through her spokesperson, claimed she will VETO the bill. We have seen her change her mind before, with enough pressure I think we can get her to let it slide through the 14 days.

Please make the Call (s), and ask friends and family to do the same.

Keep the pressure on.
