I heading up to the cottage this weekend. Can any one tell me if the ice is off the Tahquameenon around Paradise. It was still covered a couple weeks ago.

Alot of ice on the shore line yet but the center is open and the mouth is open, I dont think you can boat it yet. You might be able to by the weekend.

Smilley? Where do you usually put your boat in at, the rivermouth or above the falls somewhere? I am sure you won't have any problem by next week. The Indians have a small boat at the river mouth for netting but they had to drag it there from the highway because the road isn't plowed yet.

I put in at the mouth. I have never fished above, I would like to put in around hulbert and fish that sometime soon.

I will keep you posted. It has been cold here, 16 degrees this morning. Lot of wind the past 2 days. I will check the ramp out today sometime.

The rivermouth isn't plowed yet but you can drive on top of the snow that is packed from the snowmobiles. The ramp is rough with a lot of ice on it but I think it will be melted by the weekend. The river is all open with a lot of ice flowing in it but you shouldn't have a problem with it. Just small chunks no more then 3 or 4 feet square Lots of ducks. 36 degrees right now with freezing rain and I am on my way to Newberry.
