I decided to post this in the LSC forum even though its not a fishing report. I went to Mackie's this morning at the end of Anchor Bay DR. I asked for 2 dozen perch minnows ($2.00 a dozen) and got no less than 15 dozen. I had so many that I had to aeriate them every 15 minutes. I don't remember who it was who mentioned that shop before but I thank them. They will get my business from now on when I go to Harsen's Island. I take pleasure in mentioning any place that takes care of me like that...

You must have had the guy dipping for you. The lady gives a good count but the guy usually loads me up!:)

Was the corner store on Anchor Bay drive open when you went by there? I haven't tried their minnows yet, I'm a little leary as to what you may get at $1.50 a dozen.

i hate to wag my own tail, but it was me who posted conner, I just had to give the guy credit on the load of minnies he gave me. Im glad he gave me alot because I ended up smashing them out on the H Island. And running out during that kind of bite is a bite;)

Wag away mushy...It's important to me that I point out something like a bait shop's minnow count... Being that they are a little bit off the "main drag", they probably don't get the business they deserve to get...Enough people will read this and help their bait shop's business out when they're up that way...That's what its all about...

I love that place. Small but friendly and they always have good minnows and counts. Last year they were the only place with emeralds, other places acted like you were crazy for even asking. Good web site also during the summer with consistent reports.

That's a shame Boris doesn't open until 8am. I'm usually on my way back home by then with a bucketful. I like to leave the dock about 1 hour before daybreak. I think Boris's main customers are the cane polers that fish behind his shop, and along the hiway there. I usually see a few species pulled in as I'm heading down that way, and with water levels back up in the marsh, it should only get better. If you're a shore fisherman that is.

We have had a cottage on the H.I. for quite some time, and everybody on the island including all the guides get their bate over at Mackies. Espesially for Spot tails for smallies in the summer. Hats off to Mackies;)
