Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What the hell happened?

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet

Taxman!
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

Don't ask me what I want it for (Aahh Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more (Aahh Mr. Heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

And you're working for no one but me
Taxman!

Sorry, Wrong thread.:D

I also wonder what happend and i'm only 26. I herd forget when back in the day that we where only to have taxes at a certain rate for a few years then cut them in half or less? what happend with that so they lied and added more gets me mad I'm paying so much in taxes where I cant buy a house I cant live. They take from me at times $400.00 a week thats $1600.00 a month and leave me with less, They know we need food their isnt tax on food but I couldnt afford it if I got my own home. How can I live?? they say it 30% that bull thats just from our work tax money then add all what you spoke its over 60% maybe even higher thats not right. Look at everyone you see in a car times that by everyone across America they can afford to make some tax cutes if not where is it all going??The economy is only growing for more tax money to be sent out whats up when are they going to cut our taxes?? I'm angerd now I want to leave home but can't afford it man!!!!! But on the up note I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Do you think they make it that way????

Another vent

Road Usage Taxes (Truckers)
Not just truckers, EVERYONE who buys fuel at the pump. You even pay road use taxes for that gas you put in your lawn mower if you buy at the pump.

And don't forget all the other federal excise taxes on stuff like tires. Money Magazine wrote an article that when Clinton and the Dem run congress passed the tax increases in 1993, the average family of 4 making $45,000 paid $14,280 in federal taxes alone.

If we had to pay in all the taxes once a year instead of them taking it little by little people would realize how much they pay in. We have gone way beyond the constitutional limits of the government and the problem is the GOP is just as bad as the Dems. with lifetime politicians. But I guess we have to go with the lesser of to evils.

How about we find one with no evil. ;)

Whatever you do, if you can possibly get away with it, is do not apply for a building permit in your local community. That completely negates the Headly ammendment (or whatever it's called) and lets the city decide the new tax base on your dwelling.
My taxes were 950.00 per year in 2001, and one building permit later, they are now $2700.00 and climbing.
