It amazes me that with all the intelligent, well educated, and articulate members that make up these forums(myself admittedly not included), why do so many political topics seem to boil down to a "my johnsons bigger than your johnson" type mentality?

Why do so many judge a politician by what he or she can do for them? Where is it written that they are supposed to do anything for anybody?
Isn't their function in this great constitutional republic to defend our constitution? The constitution provides limitations of the power granted to the government, not limitations of freedoms of the people.
Shouldn't our politicians be judged by their actions pertaining to their oaths of office? If not what's the reasoning for having the oath?
And if our rights are subject to the whims of politically correct legislation, what purpose does the BOR or our amendment process serve?

I'm probably not in a class with most on these forums when it comes to education, knowledge, or my ability to express myself in type, but I like to think I've got my share of commonsense. And commonsense, along with compassion and morals are things that if you didn't get from your parents, you certainly won't get or inject into others with legislation. Yet they keep trying, guess it does get them reelected.:)

Moron, after reading the threads of the political forum I feel that most people who get involved in these political disscusions are talking about how big their Johnson is and not the pro and cons of the government. They gripe and offer no solutions just comments of if we voted for my guy with the big swanson then you we will be better off.

Here is my take. I find that almost all dems hate repulicans and vice-versa. This is a serious statement that I will throw out because I truely beleive this: Most the discussious about candidtates is comparible to racisim. They are basing their feeling and emotions on the political party and not the person or their actions. "Bleeding Liberal" and other comments are no better than racial comments. Look at the track records and do not make judgemental assumptions in negative conatations. Do not say all (insert party) are whiners or asses...etc.

Look, almost all politicians are career politicians that will do what ever it takes to keep their job. The one thing I beleive though is that none of them will INTENTIONALY do anything to harm this country. I beleive they all try to put their best foot forward. But every thread I have read implies that someone is trying or will try to hurt the U.S. from the oval office. Grow up:mad:

Bottum line is there are good Republican and there are good Democrats as there are bad of both too. But reading these threads you would never be able to tell that. I love/hate listening to Rush...in his mind all dems are bad and every Republican is great. If a republican makes a bad decsions come hell and high water he will defend their action... Because clans stick together. This is also what the general public tends to do and to me that Truely sad.
