Question: Do you fish with your wife or girlfriend?
If not, would you give a reason why not? This is not to embarrass anyone, but just a little survey on why women are not as active as men in the sport.

Absolutly!! Fish and hunt together. I love it!! My Step daughters have both fished and hunted , although they no longer activly pursue either sport at this time. (they discovered boys) I really would'nt have it any other way. We have some great memories of shared trips. My wife does't bow hunt, but she rifle hunts deer & small game.

I enjoy taking my wife hunting and fishing, i think women have the right to hunt and fish. She may not be as active as i am but you have to start some where.I would love to see more women in the field.

I take my wife with me most of the time. She had never fished before she met me but she enjoys coming along. I actually enjoy seeing her catch a fish more than if I caught 1 myself. She just isn't as fanatical about it as I am though.

My wife fishes with me on occasion but not as much as I would like her to. Whenever she goes she has a good time (and more often than not she outfishes me). I agree with UP Hunter that it is often more satisfying watching her catch a fish than catching one myself. One of my favorite times fishing was teaching my wife how to fly-fish. She caught on the first time and caught a few trout.

I can say one thing you might create a monster once they find out the fun they will have.
My wife and I spent our honeymoon on Saginaw Bay fishing for walleye's and had a ball.
But that was after I got married and left the next day for a tournament in S. Dakota.
Ten days later we were on the bay and caught a ton of fish.
Now I'm a full time Captain on Lake Erie, so if you want to get your mate into some of the best in the world drop me a line at wbcharters@aol.com and I will get back to you with some info.

Just to let you know, I fish with my wife as much as possible. Yes, she has caught a Walleye and Salmon larger than I have, but it was just as much fun watching her catch them.
We have booked charters, rented remote island fish camps and trips north to canada for a week of just fishing. Each time the trip was a great time, made by her being with me and sharing my passion . . . Fishing.

I always made it a point to ask my past girlfriend if she wanted to go fishing with me. Sometimes she'd say yes, sometimes no. But either way I think she did enjoy it. We've since separated and as for asking my wife...well you can rest assured that I will be a taking her fishing too (just as soon as I find her ;) ). I agree, I'd also like to see more women involved in the sport.

I always ask my wife to go, she rides along about 20% of the time, she doesn't want to fish but she likes being on the lake reading her book or soaking up the sun.

Every time I take my girlfriend, she catches more fish that me!! I took her to the pier in st.joe one time, and she caught 4 steelies in less than 2 hours, and I didn't even catch one. All the guys out there couldn't believe it. Anyways, she always enjoys going, and It a sure way to bring home some fish ;)

I bought my current girlfriend a fishing license for her birthday and took her out fishing at the local lake. Didn't have time to get the boat out so we took some lawn chairs and sat on the shore and drowned some worms. Only thing she wouldn't bait her hook or remove the fish, but since she didn't catch any I didn't have to unhook them. I caught a few but they were the size of shiners.
With my former girlfriend I went out with her and her dad on Lake Michigan where we caught some big steelhead/salmon.

I meet a girl 5 yrs ago, her prior significant others felt fishing/hunting was a place for girls. I thought differently and introduced her to the sports. She loved them. Infact there were days that she insisted on going when I didn't want to. What happened to her.............we got married.
I agree that it is more exciting to see her catch something!!!!!!!!
I take my wife fishing all the time, at least in the summer and until it starts to get cold. I just wish she would stop catching bigger fish than I do. Still am trying to get into a steelie, but one day.
