Hi, All.

My name is Dan Manyen. I'm 52 years old and live in Essexville, Mich, 1/2 mile from the Saginaw Bay. I grew up in Bay City and fished and hunted the Saginaw Bay area all my life. Worked 25 years at the Gray Iron Foundry in Saginaw and retired in 1996 at the age of 43. I'm a published freelance fishing article writer and a seminar speaker.

I've also been a river guide for 20 years and a charter captian for 16. Started in my Claka Craft Drift boat in 1984 on the Big Manistee River under the guiding name of Steelie Dan. Sold that rig 1999 when roatator cuff surgeries stop my marathon rowing ability.

I now have two charer boats that I use on the Saginaw Bay and Tittabawassee river. I still do a week long stint on the Pere Marquette each fall out of my smokercraft jet sled, because I do love them river Kings. Also added ice fishing charters to my service in 2002. If you'd like to see a sample of my work go to either
www.walleye-express.com or
www.fishsaginawbay.com

Glad to be aboard and hope I can be of help on the boards. Capt: Dan Manyen.

Welcome to the finest Michigan focused outdoor site on the 'net.

Being a charter skipper has its ups and downs I'm sure. Your input will be most welcome here.

Contact Steve H., the owner of the site about putting up a banner advertising your charter/guide business. Being from the more urban areas with a higher population will get you a lot of "looks" on the internet as this is a very busy place.

Thank you all for your inthusiastic welcome. And Whit, Steve has already directed me to the advertisment area of the board for consideration. For the most part I'm one of them slow buyers. Like to kick the tires and take a couple test drives before comminting to anything, if you know what I mean.

With my two web sites, fishing reports with link enchanges on 11 fishing sites, word of mouth and yellow pages add, I'm all set for right now. But I never burn any business bridges in my chosen field.
