Thinking of trying for some suckers myself, Maybe for some crappie and other panfish.
I really don't mind not being able to fish the river, I have always had a prety firm policy that I will not eat anything that swims past dow anyhow.
That usually means that my fishing takes place above the Sanford Dam, or in other bodies of water. Besides growing up along the St. Clair river and catching Walley like texans catch Cattle, I can say that the other species hold my interest more anyhow.
Let me know Walley if and where you want to go and Kelly (River walley) and myself may join up wiht you if you want and try to beat some of the fish to death with our sinkers and bobbers. :D :D

Walleyes start entering the rivers in the early part of spring. Some enter the river in the fall and hold over. But I would have to say that the majority show up in the later winter/early spring.
