Never fished that area for pike though when I was up there a few years ago I talked to some people that were entered in a pike tournament and they pulled two 40+ inch fish the night before and they said there was decent numbers of upper 30 inch fish taken. They took all there big fish on a 3 inch original black and gold Rapala with the back hook dropped followed by a 7 inch original orange Rapala. There is a small deli/ fishing shop on the Island that had allot of information on pike I have heard. Plus they had great sandwiches.

I used to fish Drummand often. Late May and June time frame. Trolled up jumbo perch on Mepps 5,s and Hot N Tots while trolling for pike. Caught lots of nice pike on dead smelt, and casting spinners and spoons. Got into some great smallmouth bass as well. Tried for walleye without much luck. We fished the Pontigassing (sp) Bay area. Lots of islands and structure. Truly beautiful place. I have not been back since my fishing equiptment and cooler of beverage was stolen while we were out to dinner. The police did not care about my stuff being taken either, so I have not returned. Awsome fishing though.

Bummer about the theft Ted. Welcome to the site. I've fished that area a few times in the falls for perch, never did much fishing for pike. Caught perch and some whitefish if it was colder...
