I typically run 3 leads when handlining. A short 3 foot kicker with a snubber located just above the sinker, a 20 footer at approx knee height and a 40 footer at approx. hip height. I know they piggy back lures (end to end) when whipping but I don't know anybody that does that handlining. Maybe we'll hear from people that have tried it. I would think it would kill the action of the lure in the middle.

I only use 2 whipping. You are allowed 4 I believe. The more you have the more likely you will have a tangled mess especially with a flopping walleye in the middle of it.

I run the same set-up as Gone Fishin' when I'm trolling and I only piggy back when whippin'. Even then I only piggy back a 20 footer behind a 5 footer. One fishing buddy of mine piggy backs a 5 then 15 then 15 and while he's untanggling his mess I'm tossin fish in the cooler laughing at his theory that more lures in the water equals more fish in the cooler. I remind him of that when I finish off my limit of fish. :D

I SET MINE UP WITH 2 1/2 FOOT ON THE 3 WAY, 6 FOOT ON THE FIRST LEAD, 10 FOOT ON THE SECOND AND 10 FOOT ON THE THIRD. BUT WHEN THEIR REALLY ON THE FEED BAG I RUN ONE 15 FEET LONG .
I THINK 3 IS THE LIMIT ON PIGGY LINES BUT I'M SURE SOMBODY WILL CONFIRM THIS .
THEY CALL IT STACKING WHEN YOU HANDLINE, I DONT BELIEVE ANY ONE PIGGY BACKS IT WOULD BE A HECK OF A MESS GETTING ALL THAT CRAP IN THE BOAT, NOT TO MENTION WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOUR FINGERS AND YOU HAVE TO GET IT IN THE BOAT OR IT WILL BE IN THE PROP.
