HI guys I'm 10 and I really am a fanatic at fishing and Hockey. My favorite types of fish to fish for are salmon and sturgeon. I just got a new 20 gauge shotgun with a scope too and I want to learn how to hunt better. A few days ago I saw a buffalo head duck.

Paul,
Good afternoon and welcome to Michigan-Sportsman.com
Keep up your interest in hunting and fishing. You have an excellent tutor in your Dad. Listen to him in all matters, both concerning the outdoors and all that other stuff he tells you about.

When it comes to fishing this guy could probably teach most of us how to do it. Nice intro Paul. Keep us posted on your fishing adventures. If you hunt half as well as you fish you'll be fine.;)

Welcome to the site buddy. You saw a buffalo head duck huh? I don't think I've ever seen one. Then again, I didn't see my first loon until last spring. I saw quite a few of them going under water and it took me a few minutes and a closer look at them to see what they were. They were on the water and going below, I thought they were loons but when they swam closer to where I was fishing I realized what they were. Reading all those bird identification books back in the day really payed off last spring when I saw those loons, otherwise I would've thought there were some sort of mallards that took a wrong turn to Albuquerque. I fish mainly for catfish and bullhead when I'm at night, bass if I'm fishing around sunrise, and panfish in the afternoon. Just times I like to fish at my fishing spot. Good variety where I fish so I can do different thing at different times of the day.
Hi Paul,
When you are the legend of Lake St Clair, I'll be able to say "I knew him when he was just a kid teaching his Dad how to fish." ;):D

I forgot to mention in my last post on here, but I meant to ask Paul who his favorite hockey team is? I think I know the answer, since its against the rules to live in Michigan and not root for the Red Wings, but I thought I'd ask anyways. :D

Yeah, I'm a much better net man after fishing with that kid! :p
Rockinmichigan, I'll let Paul answer your hockey team question but I will say that he likes to irritate people (me included) and wear a Colorado jersey. I keep telling him, "somebody is going to punch you!"

Gone Fishing, that irritates me just reading that. Here's something that will stop that, take him to an Avalanche-Red Wings game at the Joe. People in Detroit are great when it comes to supporting their teams, but when the arch rival comes to town you better not get seen with the rivals colors on. I went to an Avs-Wings game a couple seasons ago, there was only a couple people that had Joe Sakic jerseys on or something Avalanche, and the those people were being heckled by the hecklers. Even the ushers were heckling them for wearing the Avs colors at the Joe. Playoffs are right around the corner and I can't wait. Games are all ready starting to get pretty intense.

My favorite hockey team is the COLORADO AVALANCHES.

Speaking of the Avalanche, did anybody see what Todd Bertuzzi did last night in the Canucks-Avalanche game last night? I hate both teams, but what he did was dirty. If Marty McSorley got a year suspension for what he did to Donald Brashear a few years ago, then Bertuzzi should get life, because McSorley's slash on Brashear wasn't nearly as premeditated as what Bertuzzi did. Okay, I'm getting off my soap box now.

First off, Paul Is GROUNDED!!!!!... As far as Bertuzzi, I didn't see the hit so I can't say what I think his penelty/suspention should be. The league said indefinite suspention so it must have been bad. Why does a guy as big and strong as him have to take a cheap shot (as I said, I haven't seen it yet). If true, I hope they make an example out of him! The guy is a brute, he doesn't need to take out someone with a cheap shot!

I only read about the hit by Bertuzzi. They said it was an attack, from behind, with the intent to injury the player.
As far as Paul goes, I do have a bar of soap for ya John!!!!
Sorry young GFjr, but ya have gotta have loyalty to The Wings!!!!

I saw the video of it on ESPNNews today, it was uncalled for. Bertuzzi was skating behind the guy, I can't remember the name of the guy but he's the one that put that hit on Marcus Nasland that gave him a concussion and forced him to miss three games a week or so ago, but Bertuzzi was skating behind him and punched him from behind and then landed on top of him driving the guy's face into the ice, and one of the Avalanche came in and the other players came in. If it wasn't so brutal I would've only been saying a couple game suspension or whatever, but it was brutal. Bertuzzi's a big dude, 240-250 or so depending on the weather. There's no reason to suspend him any less then 20-25 games. I'm all for fighting, I love hockey fights, but not cheap shots like that. Wasn't even really a fight.

I could use some pointers Paul, I went fishing this morning and only could manage a couple bites in four and a half hours. Was fishing for catfish and bullhead. On the other hand, a guy down the peir from me was catching bullhead and cats left and right, some keepers in the 1-2 or so pound range, one had to be about 10 pounds and another I helped him land with the net had to run about 15 pounds or so.
