I won a charter fishing trip on the Muskegon river. I can either due the spring steelie or the fall salmon.
I've never fished the Muskegon, any suggestions on which time of the year I should do? I would perfer to do the spring trip, but not sure how hot the action can be this spring on that river, so I thought I would seek some opinions here.

Man, lucky you!! I don't think you can go wrong with either time. The Mo's a beautiful river and very productive in the spring and fall. If you're thinking spring, go for it. You won't be disappointed!

Have fun!...Sid

I took a charter on the Muskegon River, November 21, 1997 and was not real impressed with the results. Could have been just an off day thought. Hope yours goes well.

I would opt for the spring trip and this year should be particulrly good.

The Mo has a late run, much like the Au Sable. To play it safe, I would say early to mid April. I'm not saying that fish won't be available after these waters come back to seasonal levels, but normally it's still kinda slow until the end of March
